Store & account region

Check the Apple ID’s store region

This app isn’t available in the mainland China App Store. App Store availability is based on the country or region of the Apple ID used for Media & Purchases—not your device’s current location or system language. Changing your device language to English won’t change your store region. Open the product page using the link on this page. If you see a message that the app isn’t available in your region, check your account details instead of repeatedly searching for similar names.

The account used for system services may differ from the one used for media and purchases. When checking, make sure you’re looking at the account actually used for App Store purchases, especially if you’ve changed devices, restored a device, or switched purchase accounts. Being able to view the product page in a browser doesn’t mean the current account can complete a purchase. Follow the purchase prompts in the App Store on your device.

Where to check or change your region

Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → Country/Region

Check the current region. Some systems may ask you to select “View Account” and verify your identity first. Before changing your region, review the account requirements shown on that page and follow Apple’s instructions for existing subscriptions, balance, and payment information. Menu labels may vary by system version; use the names shown on your device.

These steps describe where to find the setting. Whether you can change your region depends on your account status and Apple’s requirements; an immediate change may not be available for every account. If you can’t continue, address the items shown in the prompt before deciding what to do next. If you’ve already purchased the app, check which account made the purchase so you don’t mistake a region issue for a missing purchase.

Verify the official app / all three details must match

Check the developer, icon, and app ID

The app name and search ranking aren’t enough to verify a listing. Open the product page and check each detail before purchasing.

Official Shadowrocket icon: a blue-purple outlined rocket on a white background

Shadowrocket

Chinese nickname: Little Rocket

  1. Developer: The product page should show Shadow Launch Technology Limited. Check the full name character by character; don’t rely only on the app title or search result summary.
  2. Official icon: A blue-purple outlined rocket on a white background, matching the official icon shown here. Similar colors or artwork are only clues; also verify the developer and app ID.
  3. App ID: 932747118. The product page URL contains id932747118, which identifies this app. The word Shadowrocket in a URL alone isn’t enough to verify it.

How to tell apart listings with similar names

Search results may include apps with similar names, ads, or tools for other purposes. Don’t confirm a purchase based only on a rocket icon, a nickname in the title, or a high search ranking. Open the product page, check the developer, then verify the icon and app ID. If any detail doesn’t match, return to the App Store product link on this page and check again.

The two screenshots on the right are official English-interface screenshots uploaded by the developer to the App Store. They show the Home and Add Server interfaces. They illustrate the interface layout, not the live status of your device. Layout and visible options may vary by app version, device size, or configuration. Use screenshots as a visual reference; verify the app using the three App Store listing details.

Where to start after installation

Not Connected on Home means the connection shown in the screenshot hasn’t been enabled. Global Routing is where you choose how traffic is handled, and Connectivity Test checks connectivity. Add Server is in the SERVER section and is used to add existing server details. After purchasing, first make sure the app opens normally, then prepare your own configuration. You don’t need to enable a connection right away.

Fields such as Type, Host, Port, Password, and Method in Add Server depend on the server type and the configuration you already have. Scan QR Code and Import from Cloud JSON are separate import options; neither means connectivity service is included with the purchase. Check your own details before entering them. If a field is missing, ask your service provider rather than guessing from the order of fields in a screenshot.

iPhone / First launch after purchase

Install the app, then confirm connection permissions

Check the App Store listing for system requirements. Complete your purchase and install the app first, then set up its configuration and connection.

Complete your purchase in the App Store

On your iPhone, open the product page from this guide and check the app name, developer, and current price. Before purchasing, make sure the correct account is used for payment. If you’ve already bought the app, check Purchased first instead of confirming payment again. Complete any verification required by the App Store, wait for the download and installation to finish, then open the app from your Home Screen or the App Store.

If the button keeps waiting or the download stalls, check available storage, your network connection, and any App Store messages. An incomplete purchase authorization, payment details that need attention, and device compatibility are different issues. Read the prompt and address the specific issue rather than treating every failure as a connection problem in the app. Server details aren’t imported at this stage and don’t affect App Store installation.

About the first VPN configuration prompt

The first time you enable a connection, the system may ask permission to add a VPN configuration and require your device passcode or another system verification method. This allows the app to set up a network connection; it isn’t another App Store purchase. Confirm only when you’re sure Shadowrocket initiated the prompt and it matches what you’re trying to do.

Installation and a successful connection are separate steps. Even after you allow the configuration, you still need valid server details, the right Global Routing selection, and a real-world access check. If you cancel the prompt, check your details first and enable it later as instructed by the app. Permission granted doesn’t mean the server is ready to use. See the quick-start guide for the full import and verification steps.

iPad / Same purchase history

Check universal purchase, then review your configuration

A single purchase with the same Apple ID can be used to install on iPhone and iPad, subject to the App Store’s universal purchase terms and system requirements. On your iPad, make sure the Media & Purchases account matches the account that made the original purchase, then check the product page or Purchased. If you still see a price, verify the account and purchase history before assuming you need to buy it again.

The iPad’s wider display may arrange lists and details differently from the iPhone, but Home, Add Server, Config, and Settings remain useful labels for finding controls. Official screenshots help you identify where features are; layouts don’t have to match exactly across devices. Find the relevant control, then follow your own configuration details rather than relying on fixed screen coordinates.

Purchase history doesn’t restore configuration

Installing the app on another device doesn’t mean your servers, subscriptions, or rules have been restored automatically. After opening the app, check that the lists are complete. If anything is missing, import your own subscription or server details again. Even when both devices use the same purchase account, check connection permissions, the current mode, and access separately on each device.

Other Apple devices

The compatibility section of the same App Store product page lists Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. Check the same product page on your target device. System requirements, device compatibility, and universal purchase availability are as shown on the App Store page. An iPhone purchase alone doesn’t guarantee that every other device meets the requirements.

New device & restore / Find your original purchase

Redownload a purchased app

Restoring the app and restoring connection details are separate tasks. Find the app first, then check your own subscriptions, servers, and Config.

Restore using the original purchase account

Go to App Store → Account → Purchased, find Shadowrocket, and download it again. Depending on your system, the relevant section may be called “Apps” or “My Apps”; use the label shown on your device. If the purchase is valid and the app is still available to that account, using the original Apple ID lets you redownload it without paying the client fee again.

If you can’t find the app, first check whether the account signed in to Media & Purchases is the one that paid for it, then review your purchase history. Your device’s system account and App Store purchase account may differ. Being signed in on the device doesn’t prove you’re using the right purchase history. If you previously hid the app, also check the account’s hidden-purchase management section.

If the product page shows a price again, pause and check your purchase history, region, and the App Store message. Account changes, regional availability, and compatibility requirements can all affect what you see. Don’t repeatedly confirm payment to restore the app. Compare the current status with the original purchase record to determine whether the issue is with the account or device.

After reinstalling: what to check

  1. Open the app and make sure Home loads, then check whether your server and subscription lists are present.
  2. Add any missing details using your own subscription URL or server information, and verify their source and status.
  3. Check Config and Global Routing to make sure you haven’t selected an empty configuration or a mode that doesn’t suit your needs.
  4. Follow the system prompt to allow the VPN configuration. After connecting, run Connectivity Test and verify access.

Redownloading the app doesn’t extend the validity of your existing connectivity service or restore your provider account. If the app is installed but won’t connect, check your existing details and network status rather than purchasing the app again. See the Subscribe section of the system guide for subscription management and import instructions.

To check whether Family Sharing applies, review the App Store product page and the current terms shown for your family account. Don’t assume it works based on your experience with other apps. If eligible, use the family purchase option provided by the system.

Price & one-time purchase / What the fee covers

App purchase ≠ connectivity plan

Purchasing Shadowrocket and obtaining connectivity service are separate. This page covers purchasing, installing, and restoring the client only.

What a one-time purchase means

Shadowrocket is a closed-source commercial app. The US store price is $2.99 as a one-time purchase, not a monthly client fee. The final amount, currency, taxes, and purchase terms depend on the current App Store listing and payment confirmation screen. Other stores use local currencies, so a fixed exchange rate won’t determine the final price. The reference price shouldn’t be treated as a promise that the price will never change.

Payment gives you the right to use the app. If eligible, you can redownload it using the original purchase history on the same account. App updates are handled through the App Store; check the updates section of your store account. Automatic updates depend on your device settings and system requirements. Check the product page and the app itself for current features and update history.

Provide your own connection details

This site does not provide, sell, or recommend servers or subscriptions. After purchasing the app, you’ll need your own existing subscription or server details. Check their validity, expiration, connection limits, and service terms with your provider. Being able to open the app or having completed system authorization doesn’t replace checking your connection details.

Before paying, make sure you’re buying the client, not connectivity service. If details are missing after purchase, don’t assume the purchase failed. Check your App Store purchase history, then confirm that you have usable connection details of your own. If you have a configuration but can’t connect, follow the connection checks in the quick-start guide rather than repeating purchase steps and network troubleshooting.

Purchase FAQ

Can’t find or install the app? Restore on a new device

What should I do if Shadowrocket doesn’t appear in App Store search?

This app isn’t available in the mainland China App Store. First check the country or region for the Apple ID used for Media & Purchases. Your device language and current location don’t determine your store region. Open the product page from this guide to check availability. To review region settings, go to Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → Country/Region. Whether you can change the region depends on Apple’s account requirements.

What if the product page opens but the download won’t complete?

Read the App Store message first. Check your account region, payment status, device compatibility, and available storage, then make sure your network can reach the store. Check the App Store listing for system requirements. If you’ve already purchased the app, review your purchase history and purchased items before trying again.

Do I have to pay again when I get a new device or reinstall the app?

If your purchase is still valid and the app is available to redownload, use the Apple ID that made the original purchase. Go to App Store → Account → Purchased to download it again; you won’t pay the client fee twice. After restoring the app, check and import your own subscription or server details.

Can I install Shadowrocket on my iPad after purchasing it?

You can install Shadowrocket on iPhone and iPad using purchase history for the same Apple ID. Check the App Store listing for universal purchase terms and system requirements. The wider iPad layout may place controls differently, and you’ll still need to check your existing servers and configurations on the device.

Where can I get Shadowrocket for Mac or Apple TV?

The compatibility section of the same App Store product page lists Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. Check the listing in the App Store on your target device. System requirements, device compatibility, and universal purchase availability are as shown on the App Store page.

Where should I start if the interface is in English?

Check the connection status on Home, then use Add Server to import your existing server details. Next, explore Config, Proxy, and Direct under Global Routing. This guide keeps interface labels in English and explains the steps. After installation, continue with the quick-start guide.
